PROJECT TYPE: Exhibit Design | Brand Identity | Exhibit Installation
ROLE: Project Management | Fabrication & Installation
TEAMMATES: Christy Christian, Evelyn Mena, Jake Hicks, and Michael St. Pierre
In Fall 2024, I was contacted by the director of the University of Baltimore's Office of Diversity and Inclusion to find a way to memorialize art created by students for National Coming Out Day. While considering how I could help them out, I noticed an unused area in one of the campus buildings that could work nicely for a small exhibit, so I proposed a collaboration with classmates in my Advanced Graphic Design course to build one. The result was an interactive exhibit called The Safe Space, along with branding, outreach, and social media to encourage students to visit and interact with this space that continues to support LGBTQ+ individuals and allies. We were challenged to think beyond traditional design practices, integrating our skills with meaningful social impact.
